Connect Tipsterland in ChatGPT

Turn on ChatGPT developer mode and add Tipsterland as an MCP app, step by step.

In ChatGPT, MCP servers like Tipsterland's are added through developer mode. It's an account setting you turn on once; then you create the Tipsterland app and pick it in the conversations where you want it.

Which ChatGPT plan you need

According to OpenAI's official documentation, developer mode is available on the web (chatgpt.com) for these accounts:

1 · Turn on developer mode

Go to chatgpt.com and open Settings
Go to “Security and login”
Turn on “Developer mode”

2 · Add Tipsterland

Open the apps page
Go to chatgpt.com/plugins and click the + button. With developer mode on, that button creates a developer app.
Enter a name and a description
Name: Tipsterland. Description, for example: My Tipsterland picks, channels and stats.
Paste the server URL
https://api.tipsterland.com/mcp/tipster
Authentication: OAuth
If it asks about authentication, choose OAuth. There are no credentials to fill in: ChatGPT registers itself with Tipsterland.
Create the app and sign in
Tipsterland opens: sign in with your tipster account, review the permissions and click Allow. ChatGPT will show you the tools it found.

Server URL

https://api.tipsterland.com/mcp/tipster

The app is saved in your app settings under Drafts. That's expected: developer-mode apps are personal and are not published in any store.

3 · Use it in a conversation

Start a new conversation
Click “+” and choose “Developer mode”
Select Tipsterland

OpenAI recommends being explicit so ChatGPT picks the right tool. Naming Tipsterland helps a lot:

Try saying

“Use the Tipsterland app to create a pick: Liverpool v Chelsea, both teams to score, odds 1.72, stake 2. Don't use other tools.”
“With Tipsterland, list my pending picks for this week.”
“Use Tipsterland to post in my channel: “No picks today, back tomorrow”.”

Confirmations

In ChatGPT, every action that changes something (create picks, set results, post, discounts) asks for your confirmation before it runs; lookups don't. You can expand each call to see exactly what will be sent. Check it: a misread price or stake gets published as is.

Remove the app

Delete it from your ChatGPT app settings and revoke the connection in Tipster Studio: see Security and privacy.
